For decades, Week of Compassion, the disaster relief, refugee resettlement, and sustainable development fund of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) has been one critical way we show our solidarity around the globe, bringing help and healing to those in need.
As you faithfully contributed to Week of Compassion each year, you do so without knowing where that money will be needed … what storm will come, what tragedy will strike, what need will arise for rebuilding, recommitment, and renewal. Through your generosity, Week of Compassion is able to respond to whatever comes, and through God’s power, provide relief, refuge, and hope, accomplishing far more than we could have imagined.
This congregation continues to lead the country in contributions; last year Harvard Avenue Christian Church gave more than $30,000 to Week of Compassion.
Each gift makes a difference. Every gift proclaims the good news that every life is precious to God and that we stand ready to care for our brothers and sisters around the globe and close to home. As we come together in faith, giving generously, God works through these gifts to accomplish even more than we can imagine.
We are confident that you will once again respond in faith as we receive our special offering. We look forward to witnessing with you what God is able to accomplish through the gifts to Week of Compassion in 2020.
