Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the 40-day season of Lent preceding Easter. Lent begins with the imposition of ashes: a cross-like mark on the forehead, a tangible reminder of the text we recite: “Remember that you are dust and to dust you shall return, in the sure and certain hope of the resurrection.” This solemn practice invites us into a season of reflection, repentance, and renewal. Gather with us as we begin the Lenten season with an Ash Wednesday service.
