At a standing-room-only congregational meeting on Sunday January 26 2020, on the recommendation of the Lead Pastor Search Team, and with the unanimous vote of the Board of Elders, the congregation at Harvard Avenue Christian Church voted by loud and unanimous affirmation to call Rev. David Emery to serve as our next Lead Pastor. David began his ministry with Harvard Avenue in March 2020.

David is a fourth-generation and lifelong member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) with more than three decades of ministry experience.

With ministries in Mt Sterling KY (First Christian Church), Little Rock AR (Parkview Christian Church), and The Woodlands TX (Woodlands Christian Church) before serving most recently for 17 years at Middletown Christian church in Louisville KY, David has developed a passion for preaching, engaging people with the love of Jesus Christ, while growing congregations and their connections in the communities they serve.

David has a B.A. in Religion from Texas Christian University, and his M.Div. from Vanderbilt Divinity School. He is a certified life and professional coach, consulting congregations and coaching pastors. He is also a marathon runner and cross-country coach.

David is married to Teresa. They have two children, Rebecca and Alex, and a wonderful granddaughter, Addison Grace.
